BIOGRAPHY

My name is Zyon Frauen and I am a multimedia artist that currently lives in Durango, Colorado. While I enjoy many mediums of art including ceramics, sculpture, and graphic design; I specialize in illustration and painting. I am most influenced by a cartoony style with elements of spirituality and philosophy that culminate in bright colors depicting abstract landscapes and characters. Prior to acquiring my Bachelors’s degree in studio art from Fort Lewis, my art training was limited to an art class in middle school and doodling throughout my youth. Although I have not allowed my limited structured training to hinder my ability to be the best artist I can be.
During the years between high school and college, I presented many of my works in local shops around Boulder, CO. Since moving to Durango and attending Fort Lewis, I have presented work in two juried shows and contributed to student lead shows such as the Fort Lewis PIVOT exhibit. I have also organized and executed two of my own personal shows that were displayed in the exit gallery on the Fort Lewis campus. Along with being part of these opportunities, I continue to sell works in local retail shops in Durango. As of right now, I am working on attending my last juried show as an art student at Fort Lewis long with the senior designated show. I am working on a couple of paintings and a project that consists of 10 separate plywood cutouts that work together that will be displayed at these upcoming shows.
